I act like an immature kid when playing online games

Hello, in real life I am respectful and nice to everyone. If someone has a problem I always defuse the situation. I have no enemies at all. However for some reason on an online game that I play, I am a really good player (always the top scorer and best stats) and I always talk "trash" nonstop. I cannot help it lol. I even tried to not say a word but it just comes out of me instinctively. I suppose it is due to me being nice in real life that I need an outlet? I play basketball at a few different gyms which is very competitive and I am nice there as well. However in online games, I brag nonstop about how I am the best and everyone else sucks and such.

It is kinda funny heh, and I even went as far as throwing away the game but a few years later I bought a new copy and continued playing. Basically the reason I play is because there is nothing else to do when I am waiting for new customers. When none of my favorite TV shows are on, when the news has nothing interesting to report, when I am caught up with all of my chores, I basically have nothing to do so that is when I play this game (called Quake 3 Arena btw). It does make time fly extremely fast. I could kill three hours in what feels like 30 minutes while playing.
 
I am not a gamer as such, but all I can say is that it must be better to get the nasty side of your nature exercised on your computer rather than on the humans in your life. Everything we do is the result of a choice we make; including the behaviour you have described. Cheers, Sera.
 
It's just pride and dedication because you spend so much of your time dedicated to an MMO. Because your character is so strong and such high level, you feel unstoppable, and there's nothing anyone can do to harm you between computers, so I'm sure the first thing that happens when you see a newbie do something wrong in game, you just snap because you take the game too seriously. In life this kind of thing happens all the time at the work place... the reason you're so polite in real life is because you have no self-confidence with people since you spend so much time cooped up playing MMOs until ppl call you Casper, lol. If you uncontrollably act like a whiney newb everytime you log into your server, you should find a job and a girlfriend. Only in a perfect world is there actual time for MMOs.
