Hyundai Accent VS Ford Focus?

I would go with the Focus. Even though Hyundai's new vehicles have been all but best-in-class, the Accent is weak. It's a bit on the rough, crude, and small side.

The Focus has a 2.0L engine sourced from Mazda, and it's a very durable powerplant. Consumer Reports rates the Focus "better than average" in reliability. It's just a smoother and more comfortable car all around. If you do buy one, get the Microsoft SYNC system with it.

The Focus also has stability control, ABS and traction control as standard equipment.

After a cross country trip, normal maintenance upkeep, and 501,824 miles, My 92 Geo Metro died and is done once and for all. So the time has come for me to buy a new commuter car (30 mile drive to Atlanta and back)

As you can tell, i had a 2 door hatchback, as to now, i want a sedan.

I have a frontier, but i don't want to use it as a commuter vehicle.

After alot of research, it had been narrowed down to either the accent or the focus. Since it's just me and my wife and occasionally my niece and nephew, i don't need a typical size sedan such as a corolla, accord, sentra, etc...

(Don't try to convince me to buy any General Motors brand or Chrysler divison vehicle. They're both partially owned by the government and by buying one, i am supporting the assistance program)

I know that for the longest time, both the focus and the accent had really bad reviews, especially the accent, but after research from the 08/09 models, it seems like they made a comeback and are better than ever.

Also, i have seen that i can get a remaining 09 Accent brand new for as low as $10,000 locally as well as a remaining 09 Focus for $12,000.

I would like to get the Focus since that the ford division does not have that stupid ONSTAR asset like all the GM vehicles do, and the fact that ford is not partially owned by the government like GM Chrysler is. And of course, i would boost the Economy by purchasing an American vehicle.

But at the same time, i would also like to get the accent since it's got great features and great performance.

Driving both the Focus and Accent has made it hard to decide.

So, i want your opinion, which one should i get?
