Hey ,
I have a friend named "Jane" (that's not her real name) and she says she's strongly against animal testing. And everyday when i go to school with her she will constantly bring up the issue of animal testing and how it's been done to cause pain to animals. She refuses to use any cosmetic products that has been tested on animals and she knows this by going online and checking to see if they do test it or not. As you all know, the internet can sometimes be unreliable. I found it really annoying when she constantly asks me if my lib balm/lip gloss/deodarant is tested on animals or not, how am i suppose to know? I love animals and i do not eat meat as a result. But my friend however continues to eat all meat products. This is going to sound hyprocrite of me but even though i have a love for animal, i still use products tested on animal. It wasn't until this year that "Jane" brought up the issue of animal testing and expected everyone else to share the same views as she did. It had really changed my views on things and seriously considered discarding all my products that were tested on animals, but this meant that i had to practically change my whole lifestyle. From the toothpaste, facial wash that i used, panadol, to the medince that i have been using to control my medical illness. All those products had been tested on animals. Even though Jane might not use cosmetic's tested on animal she still constantly uses Panadol and Nurofen unaware that these products have been tested on animals too. Now that's hyprocrite.

How can i tell Jane that even though i care about animals and have given up meat as a result i still use products tested on animals because that's the way i've been living my life. I never wanted to think about how much the animal was in pain. After all these products is used in everyday aspects that we don't even bother to think about. And they have helped my lives and other peoples lives much better, numerous amounts of time. How can i tell her without sounding like a hyprocrite?

WOAH! im a vegie too and my friends call me vegie as a result hahah!
umm... gosh! I am totally against animal testing but i still wear makeup and stuff - I just would rather not think about it. Sometimes you just can't help it. I eat eggs and sometimes animals suffer for that too but i try not to think of it - yes i know its kind of hypocritical of me too but i'm not going to stick to just vegetables for the rest of my life. sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. People eat meat and animals die for that too but i understand that its just a fact of life and she needs to accept that too. Yes, i agree animals shouldn't suffer for makeup and shampoo testing, and i do try to find products that arent tested on animals but sometimes people don't have a choice - the only way she isn't going ot affect animals is going and living an a cave for the rest of her life.

Explain to her that people will do what they have to do, and if that includes using animal-tested products then there's nothing she can do about that. Tell her that she can do her part by not using animal-tested products but she can't force everyone else to. And you're right, half the time we don't even knwo that things have been tested on animals! If she goes on at you about it, throw it bakc at her and tell her that she uses nurofen and panadol and eats meat and that affects animals too but people need meat and people need pain-killers, and thats a fact of life!

hope this helps! Good luck! XD
