...scientist contacted you ...? ... after a visit to a hospital and said that if you allowed your arm to be amputated and used for stem cells that your sacrifice would save hundreds of people's lives with immediate effect - and you alone can do it because of a rare genetic anomaly - would you agree to it?
There is no alternative treatment for these people.
Please don't change the premise in your answer: the premise is that you allow your arm to be amputated and hundreds of lives will be saved - you agree to remain anonymous and walk away with both arms intact and those same people will die. No-one will know that you

No publicity. Absolute secrecy. No thanks. No public acknowledgement of your sacrifice will be permitted. No recriminations if you walk away - whatever your choice.
Do you give up your arm?
EDIT: Yes I would.
No Tracey you are right .... I'd give up your arm.
ALEX: WHAT IF it had to be your right arm?
BO KASPAROV: Hypotheticals ate hypotheticals and it takes intelligence to be able to put yourself into the scenario.
Just think Star Trek, hun, if you lack imagination.
