Lets say they hadn't found an alternative way to gather stem cells. Where would/did you stand on the subject? were u for it or against and why?
please include anything you believed, also your country or state or age would be useful for the statistics.
Any rumors you've heard about stem cell research?
should it be allowed?

I suppose I would be for it... under the caveats you've described. However, I would have to insist that there be certain irrevocable laws attached to the widespread practice of embryonic stem cell use. The reason being is that I could foresee a day in your scenario, where there would be more worldwide demand for stem cells than the supply could fulfill.

When that point is reached, the temptation to PAY women to get pregnant or have abortions for the express purpose of harvesting their embryos for stem cell use would be inevitable. I could definitely see an underground market for such embryos. There is no ethical or moral justification for that practice, but I don't see how it wouldn't happen without strict regulation.

Forgot the requested demographics: Tennessee, 57 y/o.

am for it, I was watching a show on history channel comparing modern geneticists and how close they could actually develop a human being into a spider-man, with super strength, speed, agility, even the ability to grow hairs on the end of hands and feet and climb walls. Without stem cell research it wouldn't be possible.

I would be for it because I want to see fatal diseases cured and the mortality rate decreased.
