I was wondering whether anyone has used a Hyperextension Machine to help with their lower back pain? I was thinking to buy one. Does it help?

thanks.

I have never heard of such a machine, I went on the rack when I was 37 years old and that helped. Then in 2005 I had Spinal decompression done and that worked wonders at a hefty cost. There are only a few doctors/chiropractors in the country that does it. But I fell in 2008, reinjuring myself and now have to resort to minimally invasive spine surgery in April 2010.

Let me know more about this machine. SounRAB interesting.

I use a Back Stretcher-Abdominal Exerciser from Brookstone. The forums wont et me pot any pictures but its very cool. Basically you sit on a padded seat and then lie back onto a curved support strut that has horizontal roRAB branching off of it. The support roRAB are covered red with foam rollers , so y end up lying back in a hyper extended position with a headrest at the top of the support strut. It also has hand grips for stability.

So you place your feet on the floor and roll back to work your abdomiinals and the foam rollers allow your back to roll smoothly as your butttocks will lift from the seat as your thighs become extended from your hips.

So the exercise is similar to rolling back on an over sized exercise ball. But you have a flat base that won't roll and the hand grips keep you centered perfectly. It truly rocks!!! :D

I also have the over sized exercise ball that I can deflate for traveling, but this machine is so so much better due to the stability and the uniform support for your back, unlike the shifting support that happens on the exercise ball as your center of mass shifts. And you get to work your gut which means less strain on your back as you lose your tummy.

I love this equipment.. some of my best money spent ever!!

Bouncing with excitement, :blob_fire
