Hyper Ventilation Syndrome

From my previous thread I had shortness of breath Problems. Last night I went to the ER because it was really bad.... The doctor said it was hyper ventilation syndrome and my Carbon dioxide levels are low. He told me to breath in a paper bag for 1 -2 hours and practice Yoga. I Am still wondering Should i get some anti-axiety meRAB because he said when u get this problem u will get anxious and hes seen man others.
 
I think more accurate calling of it is Air Hunger. This is where you feel you cannot get a breath in, yawn a lot, etc. From trying to breathe and overextending the intake hyperventilation will set in, anxiety may also follow from feeling like you can't get a full breath.

In my case it doesn't start from anxiety but from a disease I have (Lyme Disease). But if you feel anxiety precedes the breathing difficulty then you might look into anti-anxiety meRAB or maybe better, natural anxiety relieving supplements. But many people with immune disorders do experience this syndrome. And btw: breathing into a paper bag never did a thing for me, nor anyone else I know.

For 1 day so far I have tryed breathing into a paper bag and felt a bit better. I am not taking shorter small breaths and its getting easier and more satisfying when I take those big Breaths I can get a full one. How should I be breathing through my nose or mouth?
 
Glad to hear the paper bag is working for you. Breathe through your nose ... definitely!
