Husband won't sleep in our bedroom, only in the lounge?

I should probably mention he has post traumatic stress syndrome from childhood abuse. I am his wife and carer, but I have no idea what to do about this problem:

We are staying with friends at the moment. My husband will get into bed, we turn off the light ect. then an hour later when I think he's asleep he will suddenly get up, pull all the blankets off the bed and go and sleep on the couch. When I ask him what he'd doing he will avoid the question.

Before anyone asks: YES he sees a therapist, and I will speak to her about it when we get home.
