we've been married almost 3 years and have never had a normal sex life. i'm getting concerned because he only seems to want sex about once a month or so. in between nothing else happens, some kissing but thats it. i've let him know i need more but nothing happens. he says he doesn't use sex to show love, he shows it other ways by saying, or snuggling etc...*which he does often* this is not satisfying me, and i've tried to tell him and be obvious about it. nothings working. he says he's always had a low sex drive. is this possible? any ideas? i've tried everything. sexy lingerie, seduction etc...it's really starting to eat at my self esteem and affect our marriage.

You've been married to him for 3 years. Was he always like this? Sometimes too much stress can affect a man's (and anyone's) libido. It might be that he's having some health problems, too. Once a month, for a couple that's only been married for three years doesn't really seem normal. Maybe you two should go to counseling or go see a doctor to figure out what's wrong. Hopefully, your husband will agree to go.

Actually, The other answer is spot on. You have limited options here. Either you develop a love affair with Mr. Toy; you bring up the idea of an open marriage or you cheat discreetly to get what you need. The only other option is to file papers on him and find a man who will do his job. You would not BELIEVE the number of women I know who have divorced their husbands over just such a situation.

could a medical problem be an issue? most guys will not get stuff like that checked out and even if he is young it could still be a possibility. anything from low self esteem to thyroid problems can contribute to a low libido. i would try to improve his diet. research some aphrodisiac foods and sneak them into dinner and see if that works. also try to get him to go get a check up. yes some people have a high sex drive and others have a low one but an underlying medical issue could be the culprit as well

Have you thought about counseling? I have some monster depression, and lack of sex drive is part of the deal. To make matters worse, my medicines make it worse.

Yeah, I don't know about this one. Something is bothering him. Is he stressed about money concerns or problems at work or at home?
