Meet the cast of Huntik: Secrets and Seekers

The Huntik Foundation:

Lok Lambert was just a normal, fun-loving high school kid, trying to stay awake in his classes and wishing for a life of adventure. After finding his father's amulet and becoming a Seeker, Lok puts his enthusiasm, intuition and natural talent to the test. A childhood playing games with his father has gifted him with an uncanny knack for puzzles, and now he takes on ancient riddles every day of the week.

Sophie Casterwill is a book-smart, athletic, honorable and clever young lady of about Lok's age. She seems to be quite proper and mature, but she's not afraid to dish out some punishment when the action gets rolling. Sophie thinks that what she learns in books can prepare her for the real world, and that gets her into trouble.

As the top Operative of the Huntik Foundation, Dante Vale is the king of treasure hunters. With the mind of a hard-boiled detective, the body of an extreme sports athlete and the nerves of a cowboy gunslinger at High Noon, Dante leads the team and serves as a big-brother to Lok.

The Organization:

Defoe is a scheming, self-proclaimed mastermind. He leads the small force ordered to track down Lok’s journal and demands total obedience, even though his tactics often put his own men in serious danger. Defoe is willing to do anything to complete his missions, no matter how depraved and evil.

[FONT=Tahoma,Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,Sans-serif]Grier serves as Defoe's right hand man. Rarely speaking, he seems to be an ordinary thug at first, but he carries himself with a subtle nobility. Grier believes that with The Organization's domination, there will come universal order that will keep all people in line and prevent wars.

In battle, The Suits fight with a variety of magic and Titans. Huntik: Secrets & Seekers: Episode 03: Words of Truth, Heart of Lies

Original American air date: January 17, 2009

Lok, Sophie and Dante head to Prague, the headquarters of the Organization, following a lead from the journal of Lok's father. Luckily they have the assistance of Zhaila Moon to fight the excess enemies...however, is Zhalia really a lucky addition to the team?

Good episode, the animation in this series continues to impress me and this weeks fight scenes were awesome!!! The Titans are awesome and in the future I see a series of action figures down the line in with toys based on the main cast and their Titans, I know I would buy them for my collection.

What is this? It just started and seems pretty cool. The animation style seems to mimick that of Totally Spies and Winx, is this by chance another Italian made show? If so, it means this is probably edited to hell.

My next question si how long is this series going to be? Twenty-Six episodes? Seventy episodes? Or is it one of those "airs until no one watches it" deal?

The animation felt a little wonky and awkward this time to me. The way they tried to make stock animation work with the new animation felt forced and drew me out of the fights.

On the plus side, this episode had a lot of new music debuting, plus the introduction of Zhalia, who's well-handled by Karen Strassman (although her early lines reminded me a bit of Kallen before she got the voice down). Not to mention we got some extra insight into The Organization and how they may be run. Mind control . . . interesting, interesting. With that power you could conceivably manipulate people to your own ends, or even against each other. I could see that being a plot point later.

That little, white bat... squirrel... thing is really starting to get on my nerves.

Less fading
Less stock animation

More chase scenes.

Make the fight scenes not so jumbled. I can't tell who is going against who and what is going on.

And just make the Titans flash out of thin air. We don't need that many minutes of summoning animation.

PS: Were the fade to black part of the original?

I believe that it is. It should be up on 4Kids' website.

I definitely think that this was the best episode yet. Though, there's only been three, but I was more impressed with this one. I like the introduction of Zhalia. She has a cool kind of attitude and she also is a powerful seeker. I like how, within the main cast, there's an equal number of male and female characters who have strong powers and important to the plot of the series.

The mind control aspect of the Professor sounded really interesting. Considering how the Orgainzation seems to know all of their moves, it does seem possible that someone in the foundation could be a spy. I also thought that the fights were much better. The summoning sequence could be a tad shorter, but I see that as kind of minor overall. I liked how Lor was able to summon his father's Titan in order to help everyone out in the fight.

Overall, it was a fun episode and I think the action is getting better with every episode. I'll be happy to see what happens next.

So Dan Green is recycling his Dr. Eggman voice and using it as The Professor?

I can handle that, though I was expecting him to sound like The Kingpin from the 90s Spider-Man cartoon do to how similar they look.

I like Zhalia's intro, she sure knows how to keep her cool under situations.

Here are my thoughts on this ep:

1. Dante's 3-D hologram of the cemetery looked awesome!:D

2. The battle against the suits in the hotel room was very intense! I'm sure glad Zhalia showed up when she did. She was terrific!:D

3. The battle underneath the cemetery was creepy!:ack: It got no better when Lok goofed and ended up getting himself, Sophie, & Zhalia stuck in that slime pit!:( At least, Dante was able to revive himself and knock those suits silly!:D

4. I really loved when Lok was finally able to summon his flying titan to help in that huge battle against Defoe!:D It got even better when Dante got the "Amulet of Will" and was able to control Metagolem!:D :D :D

A great ep! Plus, I loved the artistry of the city of Prague. I've been there twice and it brought back some memories.:) I also think I'm gonna like Zhalia just as much as I do Sophie.:anime:

This would be amazing if they released these figures, I will be keeping an eye on the official Huntik website for any news pertaining to this.

So this is a world adventure cartoon like "The Mummy: The Animated Series" right?

Good. If all location are unaltered this should dispell some of 4Kids's xenophobic reputation accumulated in the past.

I just hope the series keeps up it's high quality and amazing animation and wonderful storytelling. So many series start off strong and begin to fall off vry quicky.

This episode was great, better than last week's. The action felt more intense than last week's iffy outing, and there was some nice story progression here too. Thumbs up.

Yes it's another Italian show by Ignio Straffi, the same guy who created Winx Club.

I'm not aware of any edits, then again I think the English version of the show is the only one airing worldwide at the moment.

First season is 26 episodes. There's a second season of another 26 in production too.
