Meet the cast of Huntik: Secrets and Seekers

The Huntik Foundation:

Lok Lambert was just a normal, fun-loving high school kid, trying to stay awake in his classes and wishing for a life of adventure. After finding his father's amulet and becoming a Seeker, Lok puts his enthusiasm, intuition and natural talent to the test. A childhood playing games with his father has gifted him with an uncanny knack for puzzles, and now he takes on ancient riddles every day of the week.

Sophie Casterwill is a book-smart, athletic, honorable and clever young lady of about Lok's age. She seems to be quite proper and mature, but she's not afraid to dish out some punishment when the action gets rolling. Sophie thinks that what she learns in books can prepare her for the real world, and that gets her into trouble.

As the top Operative of the Huntik Foundation, Dante Vale is the king of treasure hunters. With the mind of a hard-boiled detective, the body of an extreme sports athlete and the nerves of a cowboy gunslinger at High Noon, Dante leads the team and serves as a big-brother to Lok.

The Organization:

Defoe is a scheming, self-proclaimed mastermind. He leads the small force ordered to track down Lok’s journal and demands total obedience, even though his tactics often put his own men in serious danger. Defoe is willing to do anything to complete his missions, no matter how depraved and evil.

Grier believes that with The Organization's domination, there will come universal order that will keep all people in line and prevent wars.

Huntik: Secrets & Seekers: Episode 02: The Casterwill Client

Original American air date: January 10, 2008

Lok wants out: he's had enough monsters and magic to last a lifetime and doesn't want anything to do with either the Huntik Foundation or The Organization. But in the end, does Lok really have a choice in the matter?

I felt this episode was a bit better than the last due to the pacing but the show itself still hasn't wowed me yet. I don't dislike the show but it doesn't really have anything going for it or maybe not yet anyway.

Here are my thoughts on this ep:

1. As we pick up where we left off last time, the action was still great with Dante battling against those evil agents!:D It was also nice to see Sophie get a little action with her own titan too!:D

2. It seems Sophie's butler had more faith in her & Lok being seekers than her bodyguard, Santiago, did.:p

3. I thought it was great that Lok was able to summon his own titan and communicate with it.:D

4. That fight between Dante & Santiago to allow Sophie to accompany them to Prague sure was exciting!:D

5. That huge fight against those agents was a real nail-biting moment! I liked how little Cherit literally blew one of those monsters away!:D I also loved seeing Santiago's "samurai" titan in action!:D

6. Lok sure wasn't too thrilled to hear that Prague was the main home of the Organization. At least, he now feels more determined to become a seeker.:)

Another good ep. 4 stars.:)

The more I watch this show the more I like it..It has that late 90's FOXKIDS feel to it, and I mean that in a good way!:D :p

I am enjoying the show enough to keep watching for a while. The story is interesting as are the characters and the voice acting is solid. Now the action scenes need a lot of work, and I'm not really a big fan of the summon scenes (They are not too long there are just too many of them) and I'm annoyed with the whole "Calling out attack names" thing.

Definitely a step up from the first episode. The fight was well done, with a nice blend of hand to hand fighting and titan summonings.

I'm surprised Sophie wasn't as familiar with Dante as she sounded in the previous episode. She was quite stricken by him too, judging by the morning scene.

I hope they implement more real world legends and myths into the show, it would round out the treasure hunting concept well.

I also thought that this episode was an improvement over the premier. The fights were handled a bit better, or at least they were less choppy. The pacing had a nicer feel to it too. I liked how we saw more of Dante in this episode and learned a little more about seekers and titans in general. I also really liked seeing Sophie getting more into the fights in this episode. The way that titans communicated also sounded cool. It's nice that Lok wants to find his father and become a strong seeker in the process. Part of me felt like he changed his mind really quickly from how he was sounding in the last episode, but he didn't have much of a choice. Not to mention he wants to find his father in the first place.

Overall, I still see some nice potential in this series. So far, it has an interesting start. I agree that adding in some myths and legends would be a great way for them to go, especially since they're already focused on the treasure hunting aspect.

Mmm, not bad. Still isn't wowing me, but it seems to be holding my interest.

Oh, but I absolutely hate that gargoyle thing. Usually I'm forgiving of silly talking "animal" characters, but a little of that thing's shrill voice goes a very long way.

The summoning sequences are already going down in length. Last episode they were around ten seconds, and now they're less than five.

Well, to start with, all of the Titans are based off of ancient warriors and myths from different eras and culture throughout history.

But yeah, they definitely managed to fit a lot into this episode. A nice setup for both the immediate and ongoing plots, several cool fight scenes and tons of character development. I also like how they switched the characters' outfits; it shows that they pay attention to details. The only part I wasn't too fond of was Santiago's role, as it seemed kind of forced and unnecessary. Though, if they plan to bring him back in later episodes, I suppose that's okay.

And the Organization is based in Prague? Interesting that they're giving attention to a lesser known country like the Czech Republic.

Can't wait until next week!

It's not their length that annoys me it's the number of them thats annoying, There were probably three times as many summons in this episode then the first so more time was actually spent on summoning scenes, even though they were shorter.

I thought this episode to be fantastic and very well written, but the one thing I am enjoying most about this series is the animation and how the character designs are so well thought out. I felt last weeks episode was a little better than this dialog wise but other than that this show is a definate hit and something that could really be franchised to become a world wide phenom and merc powerhouse.
