Meet the cast of Huntik: Secrets and Seekers

The Huntik Foundation:

Lok Lambert was just a normal, fun-loving high school kid, struggling to stay awake in his classes and wishing for a life of adventure. After finding his father's Amulet and becoming a Seeker, Lok puts his enthusiasm, intuition and natural talent to the test as he is introduced to Sophie Casterwill, Dante Vale, and the world of Seekers in Huntik. A childhood playing games with his father has gifted Lok Lambert with an uncanny knack for puzzles, and now Lok takes on ancient riddles every day of the week. Learning under fire, Lok improves by leaps and bounds, on his way to becoming a top Huntik Seeker. When he needs a hand, he calls on Cherit, a capricious winged Titan who is filled with wise advice on the ancient world of Titans and Seekers.

Sophie Casterwill is a book-smart, athletic, honorable and clever young lady of about Lok's age. She seems to be quite proper and mature, but she's not afraid to dish out some punishment when the action gets rolling. Sophie thinks that what she learns in books can prepare her for the real world, and that gets her into trouble. As the last surviving noble of the Casterwill family, Sophie has been raised from birth to be a Seeker. She is not actually part of the Huntik Foundation, but they have an alliance based on the need to fight evil. When talking gets to nowhere, Sophie Casterwill uses powerful attack and defense magic along with Sabriel, an elegant Titan that favors speed over brawn.

As the top Operative of the Huntik Foundation, Dante Vale is the king of treasure hunters. With the mind of a hard-boiled detective, the body of an extreme sports athlete and the nerves of a cowboy gunslinger at High Noon, Dante leads the team and serves as a big-brother to Lok. Dante Vale is the Huntik Foundation's top Seeker and the leader of the adventuring group of Lok, Sophie, and Zhalia. Known worldwide for his wit, strength, and collection of powerful Titans, Dante is a friend to every hero and an enemy to every villain. Along with his signature Titan, the powerful Caliban, Dante Vale has played an enormous role in several major events in the modern Seeker world.

Zhalia Moon is a tough, streetwise, elegant and a capable lone wolf, always ready to take on her team's good humor with her sharp tongue and sarcasm. Few understand the true Zhalia Moon. The variety of roles she has played in the lives of those around her is vast: orphan, daughter, protege, operative, villain, hero, and friend.

The Organization:

The ultimate dominator, The Professor lives to control. He is capable of being sly and manipulative, but rarely has to resort to such actions. Normally, the absolute fear he inspires is enough. The Professor has no ethics, and will do anything to expand The Organization and his power base. He is also the type who likes to manage every facet of The Organization himself, and make every decision personally. If any of his underlings fail him, he will not hesitate to have them removed.

f_Defoe2m_0ba940a.png

Defoe is a scheming, self-proclaimed mastermind. He leads the small force ordered to track down Lok’s journal and demands total obedience, even though his tactics often put his own men in serious danger. Defoe is willing to do anything to complete his missions, no matter how depraved and evil. Alongside his loyal right-hand man, Grier, DeFoe's mission has been the same for months: track Dante Vale and his team of Huntik Foundation Seekers and stop them from interfering in the Organization's plans. With endless hatred, Huntik DeFoe pursues Dante and friends using his squad of Suit operatives, his signature Titan, the venomous Kreutalk, and an array of poisonous powers.

Grier serves as Defoe's right hand man. Rarely speaking, he seems to be an ordinary thug at first, but he carries himself with a subtle nobility. Grier believes that with The Organization's domination, there will come universal order that will keep all people in line and prevent wars. In combat, Grier uses magic that makes him faster and much stronger than any normal human. With him fights Breaker, a mighty Titan that hits hard with a combination of strength and speed.

f_Suits2m_d49ea14.png

The Suits are the lowest minions of The Organization. Dressed in dark suits, they are the pawns Organization operatives use to achieve their nefarious goals. The Suits' greatest asset is their sheer numbers, but they also make capablespies and are excellent at information gathering. In battle, The Suits fight with a variety of magic and Titans. Just as The Organization brings about cold, unfeeling order with the help of savage evil deeds, its troops fight both with the cold Mindrone and the savage Redcap.

Huntik: Secrets & Seekers: Episode 06: Divide and Conquer
Original American air date: February 07, 2009
The Huntik Foundation has found the cursed ring of Joan of Arc in the catacombs of Paris...but that was the easy part. WIth an army of Suits scouring the underground passages, the team must scatter into different directions if they hope to escape.

This episode was "iffy" to me, it was good but it was not of the quality we have been seeing from this series the past 5 weeks, I would call this the weakest effort to date. It was still a good episode thought and this series is still tied for my favorite series on television with Ben 10 Alien Force, I hope next weeks ep is killer though!

The fake rings trick was cool but the Orginazation was able to do the pricess of elimination thing and find the seeker with the correct ring, but just when they thought they won, BAM, another twist, great sub plot. My ONLY complain is that Dante uses Kaliban way too much and Lok has been using the wings often enough as well, but no biggie they are cool titans, especially kaliban.

Anyone have a complete list of Titain's? There is one they use often I think it's name is KillBane, he's awesome, but I am unsure of the name.....

The pacing seemed off with this episode. It seemed to go by really fast and it all seemed rushed. As for the episode itself, it wasn't bad but it wasn't good. It was more in the middle to me because of the pacing but it had decent fighting scenes as well.

Not as good as the earlier ones but still not bad. Zhalia Moon has some big secrets and is very powerful probably the most powerful character on the show so far, maybe even too powerful who knows. The pacing did feel off and very rushed, especially the scenes with Defoe at the end, what is he a free agent now and no longer with the Originasation?

I thought this week was a step backward from last week. Everything wasn't as off a step, like the pacing, animation, story, etc.

Still it did a good job of wrapping up this two-parter and moving along, though yeah I was slightly confused by the ending too.

I thought that this was a pretty good episode. I agree that it felt rushed a bit, but it was still overall enjoyable. I thought that the fake rings were a good plan. I really liked how Zhalia defeated those Organization people with such strong spells. It seems like she has some deep secrets about herself. Her powers might rival that of Dante. I was surprised that Lok wasn't completely nervous to be sitting next to a skleton like that. I would have been.

It was nice that he got something from his father's journal though. I really did like the twist at the end with how they got the ring out of the tunnel underneath the Organization's noses. I was not expecting that. Too bad that it didn't seem to have an ancient titan. It also looks like Defoe will be holding that anger towards Dante for quite some time. A nice way to conclude the storyline from the last episode. I'll be happy to see what happens next weekend.

I've mentioned before that Huntik seems like someone's first attempt at a cartoon. It has the story part hammered down, but they still don't have the hang of details.

For example, the four-way chase here. While the idea was sound, the execution is incredibly unpolished; there's no consistency when it comes to who's chasing whom, how much it takes, or time between the different scenes. It seemed, at points, like the guards were teleporting from place to place, given how they seemed distributed between scenes.

Still, there were some good bits. I like the fact that there's consequences for Defoe's failures, and I like that we're seeing more of the Huntik foundation. And I like hearing Dan Green (?) do silly French accents.

Ok, here are my rhoughts on this ep:

1. I was amazed that Zhalia blocked her ming from the ring's curse! :D

2. I'm glad Sophie was able to remove the curse even if only for a half-hour.:)

3. I loved how the Foundation made the Organization complete fools with those fake rings.:p :D

4. I thought the Dante vs. Grier fight was great! I also loved how Zhalia fought off the Organization with her titans!:D

5. I'm sure glad Zhalia's lizard titan brought the real ring to safety!:)

6. Defoe sure was pissed at the Organization after the Professor fired him! He'll definately want revenge! :ack:

Very good ep! 3.5 stars.:)

I overheard a few people talking about this show in a CVS today, someone said their kids loved it and they watched it with them every week and the other guy mentioned he was familiar with the show as well. Could this series be taking off? Looks like it.

Finally, got around to watching it, and I thought it was pretty good. I mean, yeah, it was slightly rushed, but all of the episodes have felt that way to me. The story always keeps on moving, which keeps the viewer interested.

On the specifics of the episode, it was overall pretty intersting with the fake rings, the visions from the curse of the ring and Lok finding another clue from his father's journal. And Defoe gets fired...interesting development. Plus, we see Rassimov for the fist time. Good stuff.
