Meet the cast of Huntik: Secrets and Seekers

The Huntik Foundation:

loklambertra7.png

Lok Lambert was just a normal, fun-loving high school kid, struggling to stay awake in his classes and wishing for a life of adventure. After finding his father's Amulet and becoming a Seeker, Lok puts his enthusiasm, intuition and natural talent to the test as he is introduced to Sophie Casterwill, Dante Vale, and the world of Seekers in Huntik. A childhood playing games with his father has gifted Lok Lambert with an uncanny knack for puzzles, and now Lok takes on ancient riddles every day of the week. Learning under fire, Lok improves by leaps and bounds, on his way to becoming a top Huntik Seeker. When he needs a hand, he calls on Cherit, a capricious winged Titan who is filled with wise advice on the ancient world of Titans and Seekers.

Sophie Casterwill is a book-smart, athletic, honorable and clever young lady of about Lok's age. She seems to be quite proper and mature, but she's not afraid to dish out some punishment when the action gets rolling. Sophie thinks that what she learns in books can prepare her for the real world, and that gets her into trouble. As the last surviving noble of the Casterwill family, Sophie has been raised from birth to be a Seeker. She is not actually part of the Huntik Foundation, but they have an alliance based on the need to fight evil. When talking gets to nowhere, Sophie Casterwill uses powerful attack and defense magic along with Sabriel, an elegant Titan that favors speed over brawn.

As the top Operative of the Huntik Foundation, Dante Vale is the king of treasure hunters. With the mind of a hard-boiled detective, the body of an extreme sports athlete and the nerves of a cowboy gunslinger at High Noon, Dante leads the team and serves as a big-brother to Lok. Dante Vale is the Huntik Foundation's top Seeker and the leader of the adventuring group of Lok, Sophie, and Zhalia. Known worldwide for his wit, strength, and collection of powerful Titans, Dante is a friend to every hero and an enemy to every villain. Along with his signature Titan, the powerful Caliban, Dante Vale has played an enormous role in several major events in the modern Seeker world.

Zhalia Moon is a tough, streetwise, elegant and a capable lone wolf, always ready to take on her team's good humor with her sharp tongue and sarcasm. Few understand the true Zhalia Moon. The variety of roles she has played in the lives of those around her is vast: orphan, daughter, protege, operative, villain, hero, and friend.

The Organization:

The ultimate dominator, The Professor lives to control. He is capable of being sly and manipulative, but rarely has to resort to such actions. Normally, the absolute fear he inspires is enough. The Professor has no ethics, and will do anything to expand The Organization and his power base. He is also the type who likes to manage every facet of The Organization himself, and make every decision personally. If any of his underlings fail him, he will not hesitate to have them removed.

Rassimov is an evil seeker who comes after 'The Professor' in the Organization. Rassimov's main goal is to bring the Huntik Foundation - specifically Dante Vale's group - to its knees, crushing whoever stands in his way.

An evil professor, Klaus was the one who found Zhalia in the woods as a child, and raised her to be a spy for the Organization. Klaus is definitely smarter than DeFoe, and is portrayed as a very creepy man who experiments on humans for fun. Klaus is a good researcher and inventor but he has no sense of history and is more than willing to destroy any artifacts that he no longer needs.

The Suits are the lowest minions of The Organization. Dressed in dark suits, they are the pawns Organization operatives use to achieve their nefarious goals. The Suits' greatest asset is their sheer numbers, but they also make capablespies and are excellent at information gathering. In battle, The Suits fight with a variety of magic and Titans. Just as The Organization brings about cold, unfeeling order with the help of savage evil deeds, its troops fight both with the cold Mindrone and the savage Redcap.

Huntik: Secrets & Seekers: Episode 14: All Work and No Pay
(Click Here To Watch The Episode)

Original American premiere date: April 2, 2009

When the team returns to Venice from Ireland, they find a translation of Judah Lowe's notes waiting for them. They look at the notes and realize that they are about Lowe returning to the place where his people were once captive: Egypt. Meanwhile, Rassimov attempts to destroy Dante's team from the inside out.

Interesting. The CW4kids is putting this show in reruns for a few weeks but they put the new episode on the 4kidstv web site already? Interesting.

It was pretty good. It was kind of strange seeing the ever-sophisticated Sophie Casterwill working at a fast food restaurant. Though, not quite as strange as them showing that Cherit worked there too (how exactly did he get hired? ). Anyway, you'd think that a group of people with such a unique but impressive skill set would be able to get work somewhere besides the hospitality and food service industries.

Not a bad episode, it got a little boring toward the middle but it picked up and we got some action toward the end of the show. 4Kids airing these new episodes online every Thursday is a strange move if you ask me, I mean, why would they sacrifice airing these shows on television in favor of airing reruns and moving the brand new content to the web? It makes no sense at all! I wonder if these episodes will make it to television in the future and be labeled as "new" or if this is going to be the only way for Huntik fans to watch the show and then 4Kids will bring us brand new episodes in the coming months. Confusing situation to say the least.

I actually thought the middle was the best part of the episode. Huntik doesn't really do too much for comedy relief, so it was fun to see those somewhat ridiculous scenes like the battle inside a fast food restaurant. I also liked seeing LeBlanche and Santiago again, and I lol'd when he threw shurikens at that guest.

On the more serious side, I like that we're getting back to the main Amulet of Will plot. Also, Klaus seems like an interesting villain, or at least more so than Defoe and Grier were.

I'm guessing these episodes will air on TV in the fall, but I guess only time will tell.

Yeah that is interesting. Right now I've been watching alot of Huntik and all I need is a couple of episodes and this one of course.

I haven't had a chance to comment on this ep yet. Here are my thoughts on it:

1. I felt so sorry for Sophie when they learned the Organization wiped out her bank account.:( I really didn't like how Zhalia brushed them off when Lok suggested they get part-time jobs.:crying:

2. Things sure didn't go too well for them working at a hotel, especially with that snooty lady and her vicious dog.:(

3. It's too bad Lok's magic made that customer's coffee far too hot.

4. I loved the battle at the diner against the Organization, especially with Santiago and LeBlanche using their own titans!:D I'm also glad Zhalia was there to join in the fight!:D I'm very glad she apologized to them about earlier.:)

5. I was relieved that Dante was able to earn enough money to get them all plane tickets to Egypt.:D

6. Finding Klaus and his minions at the tomb was a very unpleasant surprise!!!   It's too bad Klaus' titan was far too strong for them to beat!:ack: I'm very relieved Zhalia helped her and her friends escape by creating a huge fog!

7. The Professor sure was furious with Rassimov about draining Sophie's bank account! :ack:

8. I could tell that Dante is now getting suspicious about Zhalia's connection with Klaus.

A pretty good ep. 4 stars. I can't wait to see how they'll get past Klaus to go inside the tomb next time!

Maybe it's just my affiliate, but I've already seen one major change with the move to digital TV today. My local CW affiliate is now airing Huntik, and the entire CW4Kids block for that matter, in the original widescreen format.

I was watching something else while my DVR recorded it (off my digital cable) and the DC CW affiliate still showed it in a 4:3 ratio. Had I known this, I would have checked the Baltimore affiliate on my DTV box/antenna setup.

But then again, the Baltimore affiliate shows it at 9:30 a.m. -- one of the most chopped up CW4Kids air schedules ever.

They start at 5 am with the 8-10 part of the block.
Then they show the 7-8 hour as scheduled.
Then at 8 am, they show the 10-12 part.
