So, with Hunter x Hunter returning this week, it seems time for us to start up a discussion thread. The spoiler pictures for this week's chapter are out, and there's some interesting happenings.

Color pages are always fun, and it should be interesting to see the plot advance.
 
Talking about scanlations and replying to rule violations (rather than reporting them) is against the rules.

I saw the spoiler pictures... the King is going nuts or something oO guess his string of defeat at that game as getting to him.

Nef still freaks the heck out of me... is Nef female or not?
 
I've always believed that it was made from a female human, hence why it looks like a girl.

Wait, what about the dart thrower's sister? Wasn't she female?
 
If it's made from a female human, unless the human develops into another queen, then that ant will be packing heat. It's pretty weird, I know. Then again, there's still people who swear that both Kalluto and Kurapika are both girls.

The newest chapter was labeled 260, and didn't the newest volume only go up to 259? Did Togashi delete the most recent chapter, or delete one he had written before?
 
That's odd, but it could just be an error. I remeraber the Hajime no Ippo chapter nurabers were off in Shounen Magazine for a couple of months.

The chapter was pretty cool. Nice to finally have HxH back, although I hope we get more of the main cast next time. I'm looking forward to the break in, and ensuing action.
 
Seems like an error--260 was present in volume 24. Also, after reading the updated version of volume 24, I am greatly pleased with Togashi's artwork! Those chapters looked like chicken scratch in Jump, but it was improved so much. I especially was impressed with the way the King's palace looked.

261--I remeraber wondering if the ants would detect Novu based on his shoes, and it appears like so. Maybe Werefin will develop an ability to detect Novu based on smell? As for Palm...where the heck has she been hiding? She's disappeared for two days now.

Didn't Zazan refer to herself as a queen? Or maybe they just refer to themselves in the gender they wish...

If we take normal ants as a reference it's the opposite...all ants are sterile females, except for the queen. The males don't live very long once they've done their job of fertilising a queen.

Then there's also the whole mess of using genetic material from various animals and humans so it's probable plenty of the Kimera Ants are actually hermaphrodite since their genetic coding includes codes for both genders.
 
Oh man, 263 was a return to pure greatness. The narration of the chapter is just great storytelling, and I especially love the pages dedicated to Gon's gaze turning cold and dark. I simply can't wait until the next chapter comes out. Zeno's appearance was pretty surprising too.
 
265 was really interesting. It was cool finding out some about Netero's past, although it made me want a longer flasrabroadack of him.

This break in is going really slowly, but it's pretty interesting. I wonder if they actually will get past the stairs next week, since they're finally going up this week. Or, we could get another chapter with 15 pages focused on Netero and just showing them breaking in at the very end, like the last couple of weeks.
 
266 was another good chapter. We finally have a chapter focused on the main group, and the first skirmish they run into inside. The end with Knuckle beating on Yupi out of nowhere was awesome.
 
267:

Oh snap. The King's going to be pissed off now. I think most of us figured this would happen, but it's still going to be interesting to see exactly how he responRAB to this. Togashi seems to be tying up some of the loose enRAB in this arc.
 
I originally thought Komugi would be the thing that would make the king question his ways enough, and he would be the one to accidentally destroy her. After that, he wouldn't be able to live with himself. But that was completely wrong. Now that she's been taken by Zeno's hand, Meruem's just going to be completely furious. I'm excited.
 
The king didn't always have those black markings, did he?

If so, this is the first time I've ever seen the hero do something bad enough to cause the villain to get a resolve powerup.
 
In just about five seconRAB, everyone is already at a disadvantage. They came in, hoping the plan would work well enough to succeed. However, considering that both Zeno and Netero prepared for instant death because of Pitou using his Hatsu, I really believe they're no match for the king. Let's see how this goes down...

Also, I wonder if the King's face will be drawn in when the volume is actually released. Should be interesting.
