Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez has returned to Caracas after more than two months of cancer treatment in Cuba. The 58-year old, who has never revealed what cancer he has, will continue his treatment at a military hospital in the Venezuelan capital.

CARACAS, Venezuela—Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez made a surprise return home early Monday after more than two months in Cuba seeking treatment for cancer.
The 58-year-old president, who until Friday hadn't been seen or heard from while in medical care, announced his arrival with a series of messages on Twitter. "We have arrived once again to the Venezuelan motherland. Thank you my God! Thank you my beloved people! Here we will continue the treatment," he wrote.
Mr. Chávez went on to thank former Cuban leader Fidel Castro and his brother Raúl, the current president of the Communist island, and offered his gratitude to "Venezuela for so much love." Mr. Chávez was transported to Carlos Avarelo Military Hospital in Caracas, where he will resume his regimen, according to a Twitter post from Venezuela Science and Technology Minister Jorge Arreaza, who is also the president's son-in-law.
Government officials have promised to provide an update on Mr. Chávez's health later in the day. Meanwhile, Information Minister Ernesto Villegas called for a day of national celebration and encouraged Venezuelans to hit the streets in support of the president.
