Hugh Laurie as Perry White - EXCUSE ME?

As I read the casting for the upcoming(at last) Superman movie, I couldn't believe what I saw. :p

Brandon Routh as Superman, ok could work.
Sam Huntingtonas Jimmy Olsen, yup could work.
Kate Bosworth as Lois, could work.

Hugh Laurie as Perry White???? What the..?

What do you think of this choice?
 
Kevin Spacey is a terrible choice for Lex.

Lex Luthor has to be only a couple of years older than Supes, be very hot and bald and have smouldering sexual tension with Clark Kent.
 
I would have said that that choice was insane... but I've seen him in HOUSE and his American accent is convincing. He can pull it off, no problem.
 
Hugh Laurie casting as Perry White is the only thing that is making me worried about this new Superman film. As in the previous Superman films and the T.V series Perry White was always much older actor!
 
Yeh... A suprise bit of casting to say the least! It'll be... interesting... But I'll reserve judgment till I've seen the performance. :)
 
I'm a tad worried that Brandon Routh looks a little like Jason Biggs from "American Pie". And we all know what that would mean... Superman's a pie ******!
 
In my opinion its an excellent casting.
I'm more worried about the ages of Lois and Supes/Clark... They're a little on the young side personally... But I suppose we'll see...

Lets just be thankful that it isn't going to be a Smallville movie. Dawson in a cape is not coming to the big screen... yay....
 
We all know that Superman doesn't have "powers" as such... its all to do with the change in gravity between Krypton and Earth, and the type of sun we have....
