If a superintendent is equivalent to a ceo, his pay should be regulated by the pay czar

ooh, so this is by choice.... so I'm supporting you while you want to be "selective"

grabroad
it

.

i pay 500/mo for health care. with copays of $30. $50-150 copay for special services.

10% into retirement.

~35% into taxes.

~14k property tax.

We have the lowest gas tax/prices though. whoopeeee.

I didn't say that. But it's a simple fact of life, if you offer more in terms of compensation, you attract more applicants. PEOPLE drive results. You need the best people in place, in any company, if you want to be successful. If you want the best people in place you need to pay them well and you need to have in place a system of performance review and merit pay.

My solution would be to get rid of tenure and enact merit pay for teachers. It works in every rabroad
her sector of the economy. It should work for teachers too.

That's economically inefficient. Sure I could stay home and nrabroad
earn any income and teach my kids instead. but what sense would that make? Specialization is the key to our economic growth. Allowing people that are good at teaching to teach frees up lawyers and doctors and engineers and computer programmers and such to do things that they are best at. When you follow such a plan everyone ends up better off. If you require that everyone stay home to teach their own kids you are essentially advocating that we revert to the agrarian society of the 18th century.

as soon as she gets a job, she'll post about how unemployment benefits should be slashed. too many damn lazy folks out there.
