if you want to view websites when you edit it with notepad you have to save it name.html you have to add the .html after whatever you name it when it prompts you to save...then windows will automatically open it in internet explorer or your default internet browser.

Ok! So I have a web design class and we are just starting but I want to try some of it at home rather than school. Well I want to use notepad cause that is what we are using at school. so the problem is that I save it and then try to open it in internet explore but i do not have that option, i get the choices of note pad, word pad, and adobe. but where is internet explorer. do i need to set something or what. please explain asap.
Thank You all for the answers

Keep in mind that if you are using notepad, save it as a .html file after clicking "All files", otherwise it will still be saved as text.

It helps to have an editor that will color your text (so you can understand your code better) rather than notepad.
