HTML/CSS Question.....?

I'm using Strict DTD and I want to put my table with all the texts and input fields over a set of pictures. I can get the pictures to align correctly by using the class thingy and z-index. But that class thing does work if i put it in the HTML file's table?
What do I need to do?

Any help?
I GOTTA use Strict DTD
