HTC Registry Edits for more features? (Panoramic Camera?)

Hi, I've been searching for such a thing and I have not found anything online.

HTC has been known to hide special features in their phones, for example, the HTC Shadow has a panoramic camera feature that is hidden from normal users but users can edit the registry and change the value, enabling the feature (see it here: http://wiki.allshadow.com/index.php/Tweaking_your_Shadow_via_the_Registry). Does anyone know if any such thing exists on the G1?

I'm assuming no, but I would like to confirm so I can stop my search for it. I'm assuming the HTC software on phones such as the Shadow is completely different than the Android OS so it would not be the same as say the Shadow. But maybe HTC has such features by default? I'm really looking for the panoramic feature because as many of you know, the camera has no features right now...

Thanks

well, registry is a windows mobile thing. android does not use a registry, which is why its sooooo much better (cough* Faster *) than winmo.

As for special features, there is a few that have already been found, problem with them is that they require r00t to get at them. us rc30 users are out of luck for the time being.

You need to hang out at XDA Developers to really get into the mods. Maybe you've been there with your WinMo phones.

Speaking of WinMo, there is no "registry" in Android like there is in WinMo, thank God. Being Linux-based, Android doesn't use a registry. Linux is very compartmentalized but it's pointless for me to try to explain that now. Suffice it to say that linux is sort of file-based while Windows is database-based.

Mods are accomplished differently, and the guys at XDA are really doing the heavy lifitng, thank god!

ah that's what I thought but I just wanted to confirm because I'm not too familiar with Android yet.

Maybe in time someone will develop some cool camera apps...

Thanks!
