htc incredible using htc mail question?

ok so i have the htc incredible. i am trying to set up my school email with the phone..uses a POP3...

so i sent a message myself, and it showed up both on my phone and also on outlook on my pc (i always leave outlook open on my pc)

is there a way so that if i delete an email off of my phone that it will not be delivered to the pc?
