I just got the htc hero from sprint. my manual says i can change my text messaging settings, but when i go into the menu it doesnt have that setting. would it matter if i had the 2.1 upgrade?

my manual says i have SIGNATURE editing in my messaging settings. but when i go into my messaging settings there is nothing about signature!
