HTC HD2 for ATT 3G! Do I need 1900 band?

I noticed that the HTC HD2 has been released with 850 band 3G support for
AT&T. My question is: I know AT&T uses 850/1900 bands for 3G. Do I need the 1900 band as well? What con is there to not having the 1900 band?
