Somebody please give me hope and tell me that I will be able to get rid of Windows and change the OS to android!!! I'm am so upset. I had the Tmobile G1 and loved it but I went into the Tmobile store last Saturday to upgrade a different line and I saw the HTC HD2 and had to have it. Unfortunately I didn't pay attention to the OS because I didn't even know that there were different kinds. I just figured that all Tmobile phones used android. I hate the OS on this phone and am thinking about switching back to my G1 for the meantime. Can the android OS be put on this phone?

That would be AWESOME! Because I just talked to TMO today asking about switching my plan to a non contract plan. And she also told me I have some credit and could get the HTC HD2 for 80 down and $40 a month added to my bill.

But told her I want to stay on an android phone, and that TMO MUST get some really great phones cuz their competiton is killing them on the better phones lol

You don't say where you're from (T-Mobile operates in Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, United Kingdom, and the United States), but T-Mobile UK allow you to return a new phone, for any reason whatsoever, within 7 days from the date of purchase, and get a full refund - http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/common/returns_policy.html

I imagine it's similar elsewhere in the world too. So why not try taking it back to the store, get a full refund, and get an Android phone like the HTC Desire (if you're from the UK), or think about getting a Nexus One online direct from Google. Unfortunately, if you're in the US, according to their website the G1 is the only Android phone they sell.

I think you need to look into http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/14/home-tab-mod-1-7-for-sense-2-5-breathes-new-life-into-windows-mo/

Im actually jealous of the customizations available with that mod. And with a 4.3" screen and more ram than the N1, yea, did I say im jealous? Buuut then I think bout navigation, voice search, and speech-to-text. So maybe not THAT jealous

o yea forgot bout that!

O and people might not agree with me here. But I LOVE the fact that the navigation keys are physical, AND there are Call/End buttons!!! I prefer more buttons cause that means more shortcuts on the phone itself and less clutter on my homescreen(s)! Why are companies gettin rid of them, do they not realize there are places in which ppl wear gloves in the winter!? All the HD2 needed was a trackball/pad and it would have been the ultimate phone in my book.
