HTC Evo with bad ESN??

I bought this phone from craigslist, and as I try to activate it, they told me it was link to someones account and that the person owed a balance of $1,200, I was like "F** I've been scammed". I feel like a 10 year old when they take away your lolipop, in other worRAB feel like a duraba**.

Is there anything I can do or am I screwed??? thanks in advanced
 
no i was trying to activate it on sprint, but my question was can I unlock it and put in on cricket???

Also, I called a flashing service company locally and told them my issue, and he said that the account on sprint would exprire in 3 months and that i could activate it with them

Yes you can, it will need to be flashed to cricket.
You unlock GSM phones like from AT&T or T-Mobile
You flash CDMA Phones like from Sprint and Verizon.
I've never heard of a 3 month expiration. I've seen phones that were locked for yrs, still have one that's going on 4 yrs.
 
yeah sorry i used to flash phones just have lost practice just need to find my cdma workshop and is it as easy as changing the msl to access the phone and changing the MDI AND MIN settings to the cricket ones and to OTA??
