I think this one you are going to love or hate and I like this.
This is now out on R2 DVD here in the UK.


Synopsis


A scientific experiment unknowingly brings extraterrestrial life forms to the Earth through a laser beam.

First is the cigar smoking drake Howard from the duck's planet.

A few kiRAB try to keep him from the greedy scientists and help him back to his planet.

But then a much less friendly being arrives through the beam.

Howard, a duck the size of a human man, is accidentally brought to Earth through a laser beam in an experiment being performed by a Cleveland physicist Dr. Walter Jenning, and his assistant Phil Blumburtt.

Howard enRAB up in Cleveland, where he rescues singer Beverly Switzer from a group of thugs.

Beverly and Phil are frienRAB, and when the government is told about Howard, she helps Phil and Dr. Jenning hide Howard from the authorities until they can get him back home.

But then an evil being arrives through the laser beam and takes possession of Dr. Jenning's body, putting Howard, Beverly, and Phil in a fight for their lives.
 
I just picked the DVD up in woolworths this afternnoon not realising it had been released and then a tread gets started on it.
It doesnt deserve the bashing it got by critics,ok it's not great but it's a watchable comic book film not the turkey is has been made out to be.



Now I hope they get around to releasing Masters Of The Universe (1987) on DVD.
 
I really like this film but also read the book cause the movie forgets to tell you he never was a master of quack fu, just a fan of the films
 
Why do people want to go and spend good money on crap 80s films, HTD was AWFUL, as was the Masters of the Universe.
 
I'm all for Nostalgia when it's films/TV shows that are worth remembering (The Goonies, Ghostbusters, Blues Brothers for example), There just seems to be an awful lot of nostalgia for nostalgia's sake these days.

"Oh, that was from the 80s, it must be cool!"
 
Thanks for that I might order it from Play as it doesnt seem a terrible price really.
I did know it had been released a while back but thought it had gone out of circulation and when I looked for it on Ebay a couple of years ago it was going for some really crazy prices.
