complaining about it.? Fact. USA does not have the Best healtcare. It is also very expensive.
Fact. Medicare does work to an extent but having to care care for the best expensive end of the healthcare population what do you expect?
If everything that government does is a failure then please disband the military.

For those who hate to FORCED to buy healthcare I will be more than glad to put funds into national account to help pay for your ta consequences as long as you promise not to go to the doctor and any hospital when you are sick and in an accident/hurt etc...
Last I check healthcare insurance companies are still taking in record profits while leaving those really sick older people to Medicare.
Tort reforms could be better if there weren't so many deaths resulting from mistreatments. Not to mention the other nonlethal mistakes
The same goes with US as number 1 in healthcare. Basically we have to cover for all ends from the poor upwards. I also agreed with competition. If a nonprofit can operate efficiently why not.
Basically to say that USA does not have a problem is a little ignorant.
 
Here is my 'perfect' solution.

1) Outlaw for profit health care companies.

2) Create 7-8 Government contracted Not For Profits.

3) Mandate maximum compensation for the executives and make that compensation based on actual government rates.

4) Spend $100 billion of government money to foster research into drugs and new techniques, but the government owns the patent which it then bids out to private drug companies to sell. It keeps a significant portion of the revenue.

5) Federalize doctor and nursing liscenses to increase the number of doctors and nurses.

6) Remove the liability for nursing instructors that they are responsible for the malpractice of their students.

7) Triple the number of nurse practitioners in this country.

8) Remove the employer mandate. Make it so that only individuals buy their insurance.

9) Make insurance mandatory. If you opt out, you have to pay into a minimum pool.

10) Have a three tier program

a) Government pays for basic stuff like antibiotics and vaccinations. If the government forces you to do something by law, it has to pay for it.

b) 95% of most procedures are covered by the not for profits.

c) You can have for profit insurance to supplement government care like Aflac for specific circumstances like if you're worried about Cancer or the like.

PS: Though this is my perfect system, it will never happen.
 
I would get rid of the top three officials in the U.S. . Get a balanced senate and congress. Then I would gather together the best business people, health professional and others and discuss what is needed. I would make a decision from their input. The plan would not be government controlled and no one would be requited to join.
