...slang to speak with you? Here is the situation. I have expressed numerously, in a really calm, kind and mature way that I don't want to be spoken to with slang and my guy keeps doing so. He will not stop. We have been together for years and I just let him know that I want to separate if he can't do this simple feat. If it means more to him to always use slang, than to be with me, he will need to choose. I am not trying to censor him, but he thinks I am. The reason I care so much, is I am becoming a professional and some of his slang constantly slips into my verbal speaking patterns - in addition to it being extremely disrespectful to talk to your significant other this way. How would you deal with this other than separating or leaving him, or is that the only way????? I am really stuck here... i love him so much, but this doesn't work for me
