I love my family :)

So my Fiancée and I were doing pretty good till now. Now i'm not sure what to say or what to do. We have a daughter she just turned 1, and we have dated for 3 years. So his has this friend "Melissa" who he barely talks too. I mean maybe one or twice a month.
So today he texted her all night, it was making me really uncomfortable. Our daughter was really fussy and I was the only one handling her and at the same time folding laundry and putting clothes on the machine. Anyways so I asked him if she was okay?, he answers me yeah she is fine. But he wouldn't let me see the phone. Like if he was hiding something.
Mind you i'm not a really a jealous person, I have been cheated on before so i'm a little paranoid. So anyways I minded my business, and he comes up to me. And he asks me how would I feel if he and her hang out?. I was like uhmmm why?? I mean lately he has been complaining how gas is soo expensive, but yet he is willing to drive 2.5 hours to see a friend he barely talks too.
This made me soo mad but I didn't show it, so he was like i'm not going to go in her dorm (she is in college) we are just going out for lunch to talk. I was like do whatever you want to do, its your choice. But deep in me i'm really upset. I told him, he needs to find a babysitter because I will be working that day. And he was like yeah that's fine I will.
So now he is sleeping and I finally got hold of the phone. He sent her a message how they never got to hang out before, and that she is so pretty and the guy who dates her will be very lucky. I think he erased some of the messages because some of the skip to the next one. Anyways on one of the messages this is what he says :"Id really like to spend sometime with just you and me, since we never hang out since a long time ago."
And the next messages he says he is looking forward to meeting her for lunch and she asks him if his girl (which is me) wouldn't mind. And he says no.
In reality I do mind, A LOT. I just don't feel comfortable with this at all, it's a gut feeling that I have.
I don't want to sound so possessive either.
I don't what to do?
Should I just let it go and see if he acts like a grown up person???
Or should I just faced the facts that he probably would cheat on me either way.
We have never had this issues before till now.
I want to work it because we have a daughter together too.
I really need some serious advice, thanks!
I had to re-post, I didn't get enough answers on the Parenting Section.
