are you a parent?
if you are you will be familiar with the reality of your kids being disobedient to you and rebelling at school etc.
how do you or how did you deal with it?
of course it is unthinkable that because your children became rebellious you decided to put them to death!
you just would not do that?
and why?
well surely because you know that people can change and above all because you love them.
well, if you don't mind i would like you imagine for a while that you was god and so you have finished making heaven and creating your angels and eventually the earth and your first human creatures adam and eve.
and like with kids you give them instructions on how to live because you love and care for them.
and everything is going fine, then one of your angels starts observing your human children and a wicked idea starts to form in his heart and mind...he notices that you gave them instructions about what to do and what not to do and the consequences of both.
so he decides to attempt to seduce eve...so he uses a snake to talk to eve through...and he basically tells her that you was lying about the consequences of rebelling.
then he withdraws and waits...will she take the bait?
who will she trust?
the angel or you?
now all along you may or may not have been observing the fore mentioned but eventually you decided to see your children and ask how it is going?
so you call...no response...you call again...no response...you call once more then they answer...straight away you know something is wrong...they are suddenly scared of you...so you question them and it becomes clear what they did...the angel(satan) and adam eve.
now how would you have dealt with them?
would you have killed all three straight away and start all over again?
what if your other angels were watching and hear that satan had said you are a liar?
would killing him prove that he was wrong?
what if you allowed time to pass to prove that your earthly children cannot cope without your help?
would that not be the best way to answer the challenge?
please share your thoughts.
thanks.
ann mousie,
you may find this hard to believe but i can understand why you feel the way you do about the way god has dealt with the rebellion against him.
i often think why did he have to choose this way to make a point to us and satan and the demons?
also he being the almighty he could have killed them all straight away but he didn't.
he just took away from them the ability to live forever and remain perfect.
now he says he has been merciful to us but yet we still live suffer and die...so it is difficult to understand mercy from his point of view.
nbut i can imagine what it must have been like...to suddenly see your sons rebelling and doing bad things...jeez when i skipped school
i got beaten within inches of my life by my parents!
yet these angels did something wicked and unnatural and yet they are still alive...again it is hard to understand the way god works?
