most infantry regiments have there own sniper platoon, usually they will test you to see if your good enough to pass the sniper course with there own little selection and most of the time people get asked to join the platoon.

First you must join the army and go through basic like every one else. Then you apply for sniper school and basically what the guy b4 me said. If you don't have what it takes then you can't become one. Plus being a sniper is a very boring and dull job most people think that you will be constantly poping off head shots on terrorist or some thing but alot of your time will be spent wating for hours or days doing recon and other similar assignments.

Snipers are hand picked. You can't join the army to become a sniper. They weed out the ones they want once you have joined up.

You need excellent eyesite and a good aim.
