how would i wire lighting in my car?

you know how most neon/LED lights for your car, run through the cigarette lighter???
i want to piss the cigarette lighter off and run the lights straight off a ground mount and a power cable (for example) how would i go about that?
 
in my subaru there were 12v wires going from under the radio to the center consol between the seats because i had factory switches there. look around anything that requires electricity and it can most times be spliced and added there.
