How would I get rid of call barring from an iPhone 3G?

I got this phone as a gift fully unlocked and everything but when i insert my vodafone simcard in it and try to make a call it sais i have call barring initaited on my phone and something to check, i checked it and it sais my phone isn't barred.

Can someone just tell me how to remove call barring?

okay firstly that phone might have been unlocked but the person who gave you the phone might have found it. whoever lost that phone would have reported it stolen or lost. when they report it stolen or lost, this generally means that the network he was with has barred the phone.
so there is no way to get around it mate, unlucky.
