How would a 2005+ ford mustang GT sound without mufflers?

I have a 2006 ford mustang GT. I was wondering if it would sound like crap if I just took the mufflers off and ran pipes to the back and put something like chrome tips on it. I took the muffler off my 1997 ford f-250 and it sounds pretty cool. my dad says the cats are mufflers so let it roar lol. if its too loud I was thinking of getting some cheap glass packs or flow-master american thunder classic but don't want to pay that much. no mufflers would be cheaper of course... what do you all think?
 
Pipe is cheap, try it out. If you don't like it, get a good set of high flow mufflers. SLP are good.
 
It would sound very good some place way out in the desert where no one would be able to hear it. Drive it in a city and you'll wish you never took them off. Some places are really big on huge fines for loud vehicles, more so around old folk homes, hospitals, animal shelters, schools, parks, etc. etc. need I go on? Sooner or later you will wish you never took them off. Don't disturb my peace, if you do, I'll do everything to make sure you get a big fine out of it. Now think about that, do you think I'm the only one who feels that way? NOT!!!!
 
Cats are not mufflers. Mufflers are mufflers. Ok so now that we have that straight.
I don't think it will sound horrible with pipe, but it wont have the nice pure that you can get with mufflers. Look into getting some 40 series flowmasters. ya it's a little pricy, but it'll keep you legal and still sound amazing.
