and lose weight? I have been someone who works out on and off. I am not new to working out, i have been working out on and off for about 10 years (more OFF than on though lol).
I used to jog at a very moderate speed on the treadmill f0r about 30 mins but was never able to get past the 30 mins mark cos i would be too exhausted. That was some years back.
I have started running again but this time i am running outdoors now and am measuring distance rather than time. Last two times i ran i clocked about 1.3 miles each time (and walked home 1.3 miles, some of which was up a steep hill). But i was still exhausted.
Will i need to lose weight in order to run longer/further/faster? Bear in mind i am trying to lose weight but am trying to get really fit at the same time.
Any advice from joggers / long distance runners would be appreciated.
Boshnpecs (love that screenname) - if i do the hill runs, will that make me fitter to run on flat ground for longer / faster? Like will i be able to run in excess of 1.3 miles?
Hi Mike, thanks for your answer. I replied to your msg too. Just want to clarify that when i say "run", i dont mean "run", I really mean jog. I can't RUN 1.3 miles, i am not capable of that yet - but i hope to be one day :0)
