...inch woofers? ? I'm also looking at who has an nice functional affordable touchscreen radio, also a strong eq, and should I have a hole from the trunk to the car's cabin to give the pressure of the sound an ample outlet to escape? Yes this does work...I've witnessed it with my very own eyes, stomach, and ears 13 years ago when extra batteries were just not heard of.
 
I'm a driver, not a sound-freak. I strip excess weight out of cars - my Alfa-Romeo is going on a diet to lose around 250lbs, as the benefits are just magical! The car accellerates easier, uses less fuel, turns in easier, holds a fast curve on a more definite balance, and brakes down from speed a lot quicker. I am pulling even factory door and dashboard and rear-shelf speakers and wiring, and the radio antenna, as this is all dead weight, better out than in.
There is no circumstance in which I would add a battery to a car, nor even one big heavy 12' sub. Drive a stripped-out track-day car, and you will understand.
