I know, there are certain parents, who just can't look beyond their own cultural limitations, past their ethnic lines. I thank God, that mine were very liberal!
I see most Non-moslems actually have more issues with cultures rather then Islam itself! Just as an example: almost all of the western people assume Arab Culture = Islam and FULL STOP, which is clearly a miss-conception!
My main question:
If have kids/ or when you have kids, will you teach them about your own culture as a relative priority over religion? Explain your reasoning.
Just for the sake compare on a scale of – 10 to + 10.
-10 (pure culture) << - - [0 ‘Theoretical’ balance] - - >> (Pure religion) + 10
Note: don’t say 0, its Impossible.
For most of the time I have seen Moslems (parents) mix culture with Islam so deeply that one can't tell each from other!
