How well do Windows games play on Mac using Parallels?

I know that when you partition your hard drive you choose how much is going to either cause. (X amount for Mac, X amount for Windows) But the examples shown are people giving 40GB for windows. Do you not have to give a large amount of memory because its just like a setting on your computer, or is it like a another computer sharing the same hard drive? (Such as it requiring 160GB, or 220GB)
