Hi, so is this right in terms of how we make sex cells.
We have a pair of homolougus chromosomes for a particular chromosome say for example chromosome 5 we have a pair of chromosomes, so 2 in total. One from each parent.
When making sex cells they double both of them and then both of them spearate in 4 single sex cells called daughter cells with 23 chromosomes on, 2 of the 4 come from mom and the other 2 from dad, ONE of these 4 daughter cells then randomly gets selected to go into a sex cell.
This is how it works forthe rest of our chromosomes including the sex chromosomes also.
Am i right?
Thanks for the help.
