I couldn't help but be appalled by the amazing lack of composure of those town hall meeting protestors. Shouting and yelling things like "NO OBAMACARE" is illogical and probably violates the unspoken rules of gentile debate.
The only things that separate debate from argument are the dominance of logic and the calm and respectful nature that they should have. Sadly, this is often not obtained. It doesn't matter how much you think your opponent is lying. You simply should not yell. Rather, the protestors should have politely waited there turn, then laid out a carefully written out essay on why they feel the politicians "were lying."
But noooo... they just yelled and yelled and yelled. Illogical.
looking back, I should have given the same scolding to those "assasinate bush" people. However, I wasn't too aware of politics back then....
Yes, it is quite true that it wasn't a debate. But the same principles should still apply.
I said that in retrospect, I should have been unhappy with what some democrat protestors were doing as well. However, I wasn't too interested in politics back then.
