How was European culture shaped by the ancient world?

European culture was part of the ancient culture it shaped it's self Britain has history dating back tens of thousand of years ago, alot of european beliefs are pagan beliefs eg english celebration of Halloween christmas easter may day etc are all old pre christian festivals
 
The chinese gave the europeans the compass and paper which lead to exploration of the world.The Greeks gave the europeans grids to organize cities. The Romans gave aqueducts for water. Mesopotamia taught people to make bronze and Gold. and The egyptians made linen out of flax that was traded. OH yeah, I think the Greeks were the first to use indoor plumbing. One more thing, the Chinese were the first to use paper money and the europeans learned form that.
