I write poetry pretty well, but I want to make it stronger. My poems tend to be dark like Poe, but I feel they just need more strength as in stronger descriptions of places, feelings, vibes, and stronger words. Any advice?
Write with nouns and verbs. Treat adjectives and adverbs like guns. Sometimes they're necessary, but... don't fling them around. They scare readers away by watering down the vividness of the reading experience. Writing with nouns and verbs makes everything real... involves you... sucks you in....
