How to write/organize GCSE revision notes?

I'm in year 11 so I'll be sitting my actual GCSEs in May/June but I thought there's no harm in starting early! I just thought I'd start doing my notes now because a friend (in the year above me) said that when you make your notes for your mocks (which are in November) make them good enough so you can use them for your real GCSEs. That way you save a lot of time.

So I was wondering, what's the most effective way of doing notes? I like to do things in a very concise/neat way which I like to involve lots of colour and nice stationary! :D Do you think hand written notes (in a divided notebook or patterned exercise book) are best or do you prefer typing your notes, printing them and then organizing them in a folder? What way do you think is generally more helpful?

And how should I go about making notes for Spanish? I'm learning Chinese in my free time out of school (totally from scratch) and I've found it really helpful to have three different patterned exercise books; grammar, vocab and sentence practice. Do you think I could adopt this for my Spanish? What that be helpful or too long winded to write out everything I know but simply and concisely?

But if I'm gonna do handwritten notes, how should I organize them? Because I don't really like folders, I prefer notebooks/funky exercise books but they're hard to come across. I mean, like the one with dividers. I prefer A5 size but because I'm picky, they're really hard to come across :( Does anyone know where I can find some?

Do you have any other tips on revising/making notes for GCSEs?

Thanks! ^.^
