Well I can't tell you this because I don't know either of you but you could try writing down memories that you two had or funny thing's that have happened to you since he's been gone or just draw stupid pictures or something.

You said you aren't in a relationship now, are you planning on getting back together when he's out? Because if not I would advise against writing emotional thing's in the letter. If you are-you can let him know how much you care for him and how you are grateful that he gets the point of getting his act together because you think you guys could be something really great if he does.

And I completely understand. I had a best friend for years that just for a small amount of time got into a little bit of trouble that got him into some big consequences, including going to jail. I was really torn apart but he is better now and he still is and always will be a good person. People make mistakes.

best of luck =)

This only a repost of the question because despite me asking for mature answers only, some stupid and childish people insisted on being just that.

I will stress this again, please MATURE people only, and people with similar situations...don't be judgmental because YOU DON'T KNOW THE ENTIRE SITUATION. Also,no suggestions...just answer the question. Okay, here's the post:

I've been on and off with this guy due to jail. We are not in a relationship now, but i want to continue to write him. Previously, it was letters telling him to get his act together. Now, i feel he gets the picture, so now i just want to write things to help make the time go by faster for him. What are some things i can write that are exciting, emotional, fun...things that can make us laugh and cry...not TOO lustful.

Well I definetly know where you are coming from. I was in your position two years ago. At the time we were just friends and he went to jail for something very bad and I wrote him almost everyday for the 9months he was in jail. It broke my heart and I spent a lot of days crying. He was released in 2007 and now we have been together over 2 years, live together, he has his act together now, I'm in college and we're planning to get married It does get better I promise. We would wirte about everything! lol about our days and when we thought of each other. He would send me cards and love letters. I would write him song lyrics. He would draw cute pictures for me..Once he drew a pic of me it was crazy how amazing he got at drawing. I would encourage him to get his GED while he was there. You could go visit him in cute outfits. I would send him pics of my life like pics of me and my family, my new car things like that. He always wanted dirty pics but I just can't do that lol. You write him erotic letters if you would like. I never did but if he went to jail now I would lol. You could send him games like printed out that he could play like crossword and things like that. Put money in his books so he could have a tonnnnn to eat one day. Just have fun with it. I always tried to keep my boyfriend up beat and focused on how could our future will be when he gets out. Good luck! and if you ever need someone to talk to email me =)

No offense but I think your hopes for these letters are a bit high. You can only write so much of that kind of stuff and eventually you run out of material. My best friend was locked up several times for years at a time and what I started doing was telling her about my day and find little stuff about that was funny or interesting. I would tell her who I had seen, what I bought that day, the A hole in the parking lot I got into an argument ect ect. If you want to be a great friend send him interesting articles to read or actual books. He will love that!

Why would you need advice to write a letter? Just write a letter telling him your daily doings and new things that are going on with you or people he know. Also put a inspirational quote at the end of every letter.
