how to write a good title for a book?

A title is something you have to discover for yourself. You know your story better than anyone else.

I like to write the title based on the feeling of the characters in the book. If its a love story it has a romantic title and so on. Anyway good luck with your writing :)

There's no real method to it. But it should be something that reflects the work itself. (An example would be Night World, it's about- you guessed it- the Night World and it mentions this several times throughout the book)

The title has to find you, not the other way around

I always go through my entire "summary" and pick out and write down the points or words that pop out to me. That has always made a good title for me.

Think about your overall plot... or the message or main topic or event in the story. Then concentrate rate on giving the title to that. If you focus on the whole book, the minor details will distract you and it will be more difficult.

I'm writing a book where a group of teens have to go to another planet because Earth is being destroyed. There is only enough full to get there so they can't alter their course at all or they are doomed. Their ship is set on autopilot to prevent them from tampering with their ship's course. The title of my book... "No Turning Back". Makes sense... right? So... it's basically like that.

You have to think of the plot or main event... try to base the title off that.

Hope this helped! Best of luck!

Usually publishers and Agents pick a title for you. Write down some of your title ideas from the other answers, and they might use a version of one of your ideas...
