How to wire ORION HCCA 225 "digital reference series" in mono?

I have 2 dvc 2 ohm subs. I would like to wire them to .5 ohm load in mono. Do I hook the speakers up like normal (1 speaker hooked up to the right and 1 to the left, with the channels wired in parallel, then press the mono button on the apm?) or do I hook both speakers up in parallel then hook them both up to just the right side or left side? I know how to wire the speakers correctly, I just need to know how to get the amp to put out in mono.
