They are both benzo's so there's really no point using one to get off another. If you have ativan, just wean off of that.
It should be done under a doctor's supervision, as seizures are a symptom of withdrawal. If you wean too fast, you can have a seizure. You should make an appt. with the prescribing doctor and discuss a plan that works for you.

Hi Paul
I agree with the first response.. it is very difficult coming off any benzo whether it is Xanax or Ativan. I would check it out with the doctor.
