How to wash & dry denim without shrinking & fading.?

Okay so I need to know how to wash my denim so it will keep its color & maintain its size. I don't know what laundry settings to put it on (cold/cold, warm/cold, or hot/cold; handwash, delicates, wrinkle free, or cotton/sturdy; presoak, stain cycle, extra rinse, and/or max extract). Also, I don't know how to dry it to maintain those things.
