How to use voice chat in unreal tournament 2004?

i was trying how to figure out how to use voice chat on the game (i am useing HP Pavilion dv7-1451 nr Entertainment Notebook PC) which includes a mic built in it.... in online play im trying to use voice chat so i press (v + 1 + 1 + 3) for team talk but nothing seems to be happening please help
