I'm trying to install windows Xp. I have a intel based mac and I have leopard. When I try to partition the disk I get this message: "The disk cannot be partitioned because some files cannot be moved. Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant again."

I looked at disk utility and it is formated as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). I have never tried to partition the disk before and I had had the computer for about a year. There is plenty of free space on the computer to partition so I don't know the problem.

You probably have some fragmentation issue, you'd either need to run a defrag program like idefrag or reformat the main drive - you could also try installing bootcamp on an external drive.
